Way better than half the boots I've purchased before! Not that far away from thorogood boots but not quite thereMy husband loves these boots. Light weight and comfy.I bought them because of the soles. I wore Craftsman Die Hards for about thirty years because I don't like mud-gripping waffle soles. When they changed their soles I had to look elsewhere. These were a pleasant surprise. First day wearing them at work was a hot day and when the day was over my feet were not sore at all. They seem very well-made. If they last me a couple seasons at work I will be very happy.I wear boots every day for work and recreation. Aside from a few summer months I wear boots daily. I had a pair of popular name brand boots I wore for 3 years and it was time for a replacement. I'm generally walking on concrete or other hard unforgiving surfaces. I was looking for a mock toe wedge sole boot for comfort and durability. These are perfect and fit all criteria. I have only had them for a week and I am hesitant to take them off at the end of the day. The only drawback I have been able to find is they seem to run a bit large. I wear a men's size 11 in most shoes which is what I ordered. These feel about a half size too big. My foot is also very narrow, having purchased B width boots in the past. I was able to rectify the issue by purchasing separate insoles that gave these boots an almost custom fit. I am extremely impressed with the product at this price point.As a (Reinforcer) iron worker you tend to run through boots but seeing these bad boys in person you know it’s ganna be a good boot nice leather and an 8 inch just to keep the ankle safe love it nice color above all its almost a shame I gotta use em for work but non the less they look and feel goodThis is a good quality boot for the price.It is made in China but is very similar to the made in USA Thorogood Boot.The leather is very nice and quite thick.The boots definitely require some break in time, only because the leather is so thick. (Not a bad thing at all, really.)The boot is a bit different than the stock picture in the listing. It is a bit darker and there is no branding like what is represented in the stock photo.The boot does look exactly like the photos that are in the Product Description.There is a thin cloth like lining in the toe box area and a thin lining at the back of the heel.The insole is extremely thin with no arch support but it is removable so that you can replace it with a better quality insole or orthotic.The sole is a very light but moderately sturdy material which makes the entire boot very light.The listing advises ordering a half size down from some other name brand boots but I would recommend against that as I ordered a half size down from the Wolverines that I usually wear and I had to exchange them for the size that I normally wear.The customer is responsible for the return shipping cost even for an exchange.I would say that the boots fit true to size.I have been wearing the boots for four days now and they seem to be softening and breaking in already.I think this is a pretty good boot especially for the great price.(Update 7/26/17) I have been wearing the boots for almost 2 weeks now and as of today they seem to be completely broken in and are very comfortable now.Break in does take some time so hang in there and I think that you will be very happy with your purchase.Awesome boots love the style and they seem to be really good quality jest as good as my red wings hope they last In concreteI bought these boots in September 2018. Took a chance and got lot of boot for the dollar, I've had red wings unravel with alot less effort. Held up to the wear and tear of factory work, casual wear and farm life in the pnw.
