There is beauty in the simplicity of this chair. Sure, you don't have a million dials and switches on the base for fine tuning, but it hits all the basics and while I initially was taken back by the fact that it only has 3 settings for the backrest support (rigid, firm and soft), I have found that's all that I really need. I should note that mine arrived with more of the assembly done than the Steelcase videos even indicated. For instance, the armrests were already installed and I didn't have to attach the back to the base. Made me wonder if mine was a return, demo or something like that but it appears to be in like new condition. Anyway, I had it all together and adjusted to my liking in all of 5 min. which is great!I feel like this chair corrects a lot of my bad habits w/out being a nag about it. I find myself sitting with improved posture and with proper support at the three key touch points- Arms, back, butt. I would say that if there is a weak link among those three, it'd maybe be at the arms as they sort of vaguely move around laterally sometimes and I find myself sort of resetting them every so often to where I think they should be for me. They also are fairly thin and lightweight so I have some concern about durability but only time will tell there.Steelcase claims the chair can support up to 400lbs, which to me, indicates that it should hold up under the kind heavy daily use that I bought it for as an intensive home office user. Some complaints in reviews I read ahead of purchase were related to the seat cushion being too hard. I would tend to disagree there as I think it strikes a perfect balance of comfort/supportiveness. As with a bed mattress, softer isn't always better in my experience. As for the rest, it feels like an upscale economy chair rather than anything more luxurious with lots of plastic but it's all well-done. I guess for the price paid, that's fair and my wife indicated that she prefers this to any other desk chair that I've brought home thus far. I'd say that's high praise.I think that unless you are willing to go closer to a grand or more, this is a great option- Particularly if you are under 6' tall. If you are larger, you will likely want to add the optional headrest for additional support as the chair back covers me at 5'10" just barely. Otherwise, maybe steer clear of this one, but for the average size adult, it really shines.I'm starting a job that allows me to work from home, and I knew a lot rode on having a comfortable chair. I'm familiar with Steelcase, a well-respected brand, and the price for this chair was about $400 -- I saved about $140 by getting it in orange. $400 isn't chump change, but actually is very reasonable when you consider that your entire body will be in it all day. It certainly is ...orange, but it's fun, and I can always throw something over the back if I want a change.Assembly was literally 30 seconds. The chair offers basic personal adjustment - height of seat, depth of seat, armrest height and angle, and lumbar support. I'm 5' tall, and it lets me sit comfortably with my feet flat on the floor. I The chair is very sturdy, doesn't feel cheap, is super comfortable and supportive, and fits well in my small work area. I wanted a good compromise between a $1300 chair with all the bells and whistles and a trendy fast-fashion chair whose reviews talked about pieces breaking off after two months of use.I'm extremely happy. It's really incredible how the second you turn 30, your body immediately starts to fall apart. Gone are the days of stuffing my feet into any-old shoes, using whatever pillow was around, and sitting in what BS computer chair my dirt-poor ass could afford. My body pays dividends for living while cheap, and now I have to shell out some money for the things I use every day.But I'm still poor, so y'know, like, within reason...Which led me to this chair. Is is pretty? No. Is it the best out there? Also no, because the best one is literally $1300. This guy looks like the corporate-flavored death of childhood dreams, but I weighed the reviews against the cost on several other chairs, and I settled on this one.I wasn't thrilled with it once I built and sat in it. I just ate $400, I wanted to be impressed or something, but I wasn't. It was just a chair. (And the armrest articulations are pretty baffling tbh, but admittedly fun to idly screw around with.) I immediately stopped registering it's presence under me entirely after a few minutes.BUT THAT'S THE THING. I didn't think about the chair! Because I didn't have to! It wasn't hurting me. No bolts digging into my butt, no growing back pain, no fighting with nitpicky settings. I can sit in this thing for hours and hours and never once think about it. It's GREAT. I don't need a chair to bleep my bleep, I just need it to be a chair and not ruin my body. Which this thing does! Very well! This chair chairs way better than any of my chairs chaired before. Worth it.For the past two (2) years, I've been looking for a good office chair. Most of my efforts have been on Amazon, looking for chairs with a 4.0+ rating. This includes reading hundreds of reviews, as it is easy to be seduced by high ratings only to discover a sizable amount of legitimate gripes about any given chair. The search ended on Oct. 10th when I stumbled across the Steelcase Series 1 Work Office Chair. The engineers deserve an award for ingenuity. The design forces you to have proper posture when sitting: gluteus maximus and back! Very comfortable. My only issue: The padded arm rests swivels to the left and right. There's no locking system to keep them in place. That said, this is the best office chair I have ever owned. I paid $418.20 for the chair. Oh, and I paid $40 for five (5) single-wheel rubber casters by Lifelong. A worthy upgrade to any traditional casters.I got the version of this chair (purple) that was much cheaper than other colors and it looks great and is extremely comfortable. My back pain is almost all gone after using this chair for only a couple of weeks. I’m actually buying another one I like it so much. I’m a bigger guy and I feel like I have a decent amount of room even though the chair is fairly compact. Arm rests pop out nicely and are very adjustable and are made from durable but soft material. Do yourself a favor and get this chair. Due to the long work hours at home, I decided to buy this chair after comparing it with Secret Lab Titan and Autonomous ErgoChair 2. I chose this at the end because of the brand (knowing it is one of the few established brands) and how easy it is to assemble. As well, I didn't care for the fancy features like the extra adjustment knobs.I have had this chair for 3 months now, the chair built quality is very decent. Although it makes some squeaky noise once in a while, it does offer a very comfortable seating experience. However, I don't think this is worth the price. The armrests can also be in the way sometimes as the "4D" plate does not lock in place. Compared to my friends' Autonomous ErgoChair 2, this chair offers minimal lumbar support. I've also heard many positive reviews about the titan chair as well. All in all, I agree with many other reviews, this is a comfortable chair but not worth its price.I did a lot of research before investing in this chair. SteelSeries consistently showed at the top of every office chair list. I was very hesitant to drop so much down on just a chair; if it hadn't been for the top-of-the-line reviews, I never would have considered it.I have a number of disorders that leave me in constant chronic pain. Accepting my current work-from-home position at my job made me very nervous about pain management throughout an 8-hour workday. It has been about 6 months now and I am absolutely thrilled that I took the plunge. This is the first chair in my entire life that does not pile on to the pain that I'm already in. And it's purple!!Exactamente lo que esperaba por una silla de 500 USD. Duradera, cómoda y práctica. Excelente opción para Homeoffice. Vale la pena invertir un poco en algo que vas a usar 10+ horas al día
